Resubmission & User Migration Guide

Welcome to the new AJSE platform. Because our previous user database could not be recovered, all users—including past authors and reviewers—must follow these steps to re-establish their presence on the site.

Step 1: Create a New Account

  • Navigate to the Register link on the top right of the homepage.

  • Complete the profile information. Please use the same email address you used previously if you wish to maintain consistency in our editorial records.

  • Ensure you select the appropriate roles (Author/Reviewer) during registration.

Step 2: Resubmitting "Pending" Manuscripts

If you had a paper under review or awaiting a decision, please follow these steps to ensure it is fast-tracked:

  1. Start a New Submission: Click on "Make a Submission" from your dashboard.

  2. Upload Files: Upload your most recent version of the manuscript.

  3. Identify Previous Status: In the "Comments for the Editor" section, clearly state:

    • “Previously submitted on [Approximate Date]”

    • “Old Manuscript ID: [If known]”

    • “Status before downtime: [e.g., Under Review / Revision Submitted]”

  4. Attach Review Logs (Optional): If you have copies of previous reviewer comments or your response to reviewers, please upload them as "Supplementary Files" to help us speed up the process.

Step 3: Monitoring Progress

Once submitted, our editorial team will verify the previous status and assign it for expedited processing. You will receive a notification once the paper is moved back into the active review or editorial phase.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Why do I need to register again? Due to unforeseen technical issues, while we were able to save the published archives, the user database and login credentials were lost. To interact with the new system, a fresh registration is required.

Q: I have a paper published in a past volume. Is it lost? No. All previously published papers have been successfully migrated. You can find them in the "Archives" section. If you notice any formatting issues or missing metadata in your published work, please contact us.

Q: Will my paper go back to the beginning of the review cycle? Not necessarily. We are committed to honoring the progress you already made. If your paper was already "Under Review," we will prioritize assigning it to the same or new reviewers immediately to ensure a swift decision.

Q: What if I don't remember my old Manuscript ID? That is okay. Provide as much detail as possible in the "Comments for the Editor" section, such as the original submission date and the title of the paper.

Q: Who can I contact for technical support? If you encounter any bugs or have trouble uploading your files, please reach out to the editorial office at ajse@aiub.edu.
